Company Overview Heavy Equipment Hire Pty Ltd (HEH) is based in Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands, one hour from Cairns. HEH is a civil construction company specializing in the delivery of services to a variety of clients including local authorities, community councils, state government departments and private sector clients As HEH is based on the Atherton Tablelands, our work encompasses working in or around the Wet Tropics, or World Heritage Areas, HEH, has developed an Integrated Management System with objectives and targets to monitor and review our core operations and our impacts on the surrounding environment. With the integration of our HSEQ system, we are able to analyse data for continual improvement in the following areas.
HEH is locally owned and operated by Rodney, Mark and Luke Bird, of which they have been part of Queensland’s earth moving, construction and mining industry for over 40 years which has seen the company expand its sphere of operations to civil contracting. |

Operational Scope HEH specializes in civil construction work and provides civil contracting services to clients including, road and civil maintenance projects. All projects are aligned to the client’s project scope and include formal quality management planning, principles, techniques and monitoring to deliver projects which have been specified by the customer, on-time, and on-budget. HEH scope of works cover, both residential and commercial subdivisions, water reticulation and sewerage infrastructure pipelines and pump stations, culvert restoration, gravel re-sheet, and the upgrade of roads, including intersection widening. Management System Compliance To provide such services HEH has developed and implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS) that identifies core business processes which are documented and are measured for overall compliance and assurance to stakeholder requirements, HEH is committed to continual improvement.
